Using a Poké Doll on Marowak is allowed.

Digging from within buildings is allowed.

Talking to the Bike Shop owner without having the Bike Voucher to temporarily gain instant text is BANNED.

Glitches such as trainer-fly, old man, et cetera are BANNED.

Having a save file present on the cart/emulator when you start the run is BANNED. You can use Up+B+Select on the title screen to clear your save data.

The Super Game Boy peripheral for the SNES runs at an inaccurate framerate, and is therefore BANNED. Super Game Boy 2 is allowed, however.

All variants of Game Boy Tower have inaccurate emulation, and are therefore BANNED.

The only allowed emulator is the latest release of Gambatte-Speedrun with a GBC bios image.

All other emulators are banned.

If using emulator, using save states and speedup for any reason is BANNED.

Using emulator to create custom palettes that are not usable on any kind of official console is BANNED.

If using emulator, you must do one of the following to prove your run is using the correct emulator:

1. Hard reset the emulator using Ctrl-R or the menu option before the start of every race.

2. Capture the entire emulator, including the window border.

You must stream your race and enable VOD saving.  All races will be done on the SpeedRunsLive.com IRC server according to the SRL rules.   The time recorded on SRL will be considered the official time for the match.

The format for the first stage of the tournament is 4-person Round Robin.  Players are divided into groups of 4.  All 4 players in that group play each other.  The top 2 players in each group advance to the final stage.  Ties are broken by (1) number of wins vs tied participants, followed by (2) BEST time in the tournament.  Seeding into the Round Robin stage is done by PB rank in the leaderboard when signups close.  Runners with no PB will be randomized and placed at the bottom of the seeding.  Runners who want to submit a PB that is not on the leaderboard must contact the tournament organizers with a video before the deadline.

The final stage of the tournament is a single-elimination bracket format.  Seeding into the bracket is determined by within-group rank from the round robin and then by BEST tournament time.

Players are in charge of contacting their opponent to decide a time and date to race.  Players in the Round Robin should complete at least 1 match per week.  Players will have just over 3 weeks to complete the round-robin matches.  You may ask for an extension, but anyone who has not gotten in contact with their opponent or made arrangements with the organizers by the deadline will have their matches marked as loss.

For information or help with the tournament contact feasel (emailtwitter).
